Military aircraft have complicated electrical wiring systems containing many different connectors, contacts and terminals, the repair of which require precision tools. DMC researched the wiring manuals of the U.S. AIRFORCE fleet and has identified the most common tools required to maintain the electrical systems of these aircraft and combined them in a multi case system called the DMC2284 Expeditionary Depot Maintenance Electrical Repair Kit (EDMX). The DMC2284 kit includes tool to application cross reference information and identifies the particular tool(s) required for the repair of a specific connector, contact, or terminal. In addition, the kit also contains illustrated operating instructions for the designated tooling. The DMC2284 kit consists of five cases, three of which contain wire stripping, crimping, and insertion and removal tooling. The additional two cases contain backshell tooling required for the assembly and disassembly of connectors and backshells, EMI tooling, and hydraulic tooling for crimping large power systems. The rapid deployment required of the USAF fleet makes the DMC2284 Expeditionary Depot Maintenance Electrical Repair Kit (EDMX) essential to ensure that USAF assets, including battle-damaged aircraft, can return to service in the shortest time possible.
