Don’t Let Unqualified Tools Compromise Your Work

Daniels Manufacturing Corporation® (DMC®) is aware of several tool manufacturers and resellers who are advertising knockoff crimp tools as meeting military specifications (Mil-Spec.) These misleading and unqualified tools pose significant risks to the entire aerospace community, DOD, and maintainers of electrical wiring interconnect systems.
Despite our previous warnings, unauthorized marketplaces such as Walmart.com, Alibaba, eBay, Grainger, Allied, and Graybar continue to distribute these knockoff tools. The list of manufacturers falsely claiming compliance with Mil-Spec standards continues to grow.
These manufacturers include markings on their tools that wrongly imply qualification to AS22520 and other standards. Additionally, several of these knockoffs bear DMC part numbers and appear almost identical to genuine DMC-qualified products listed on the Qualified Products Database (QPD) and Qualified Products List (QPL).
It is essential to know that these knock-off products are not approved or qualified under MIL-DTL-22520 or AS81969 specifications. They do not meet the rigorous quality and safety standards established by SAE and upheld by DMC since 1949.
HOW TO AVOID KNOCKOFFS
- Avoid purchasing DMC products from unauthorized sources. Authorized sources can provide proof of authenticity.
- Be careful when buying crimp tools on marketplaces such as Walmart.com, Alibaba, eBay, Grainger, Allied, and Graybar.
- Avoid purchasing crimp tools from Amazon, unless you are purchasing from the Daniels Manufacturing Corporation Storefront.
- Avoid purchasing items marked as used or refurbished. If a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is.
